Apple reveals the winners of the 2025 Design Awards, highlighting creative and innovative apps from indie developers and startups worldwide.
Just a few days before its big Worldwide Developers Conference 2025 (WWDC), Apple announced the winners and finalists for its 2025 Design Awards. These awards recognize the best apps created using Apple’s tools.
This year’s winners mostly come from indie developers and startups. Unlike many places where AI apps are everywhere, Apple’s list doesn’t include generative AI apps for the second year running. However, some apps with AI features did get highlighted, such as Speechify (winner in the “Inclusivity” category) and Moises, a music editing app.
Apple mainly focuses on how developers use its technology to make apps more enjoyable and useful.
There are 12 winners in total, one app and one game in each of six categories: Delight and Fun, Innovation, Interaction, Inclusivity, Social Impact and Visuals and Graphics. Many small developers from around the world also made the finalist list.
One notable winner is Watch Duty, an app that provided valuable information during California wildfires. It won the “Social Impact” category. Another winner, Play, a developer tool supported by M13, was named best app for innovation.
