Nvidia Surges Ahead, Targeting Intel, AMD, and Even ARM in Chip Wars
Nvidia has been absolutely dominating the tech world lately. Everyone’s talking about it hitting that massive $4 trillion mark, but there’s more happening under the surface and it’s shaking up the entire chip industry.
Right now, all eyes are on one question: has Nvidia hit its peak, or is $5 trillion actually on the table? Honestly, with the way things are going, betting against Nvidia doesn’t seem smart.
A big reason behind the surge? U.S. export policy just flipped. The government has eased up on restrictions, meaning Nvidia can send its chips to China again. That’s huge because:

Supercomputers in the UK and Europe? Nvidia’s Already There
So here’s something big: on July 17, the UK’s University of Bristol fired up a supercomputer called Isambard-AI. And guess who’s powering it? Yep, Nvidia.
They used Nvidia’s Grace Hopper Superchips to reach a mind-blowing 21 exaflops of AI performance. That’s no small feat.
And if you thought that was impressive, wait till you hear about Jupiter. It’s another European supercomputer, this one even more powerful with nearly 24,000 GH200 Superchips. It’s expected to crank out 90+ exaflops, making it the fastest one in all of Europe.
Still, even Nvidia knows there’s a cap on how many supercomputers the world needs. So, what’s next?
Robots. No, Seriously. AI-Powered Robots Are Coming
Nvidia is already working on the next phase: physical AI. The new Jetson Thor platform is being built for humanoid robots, yeah, actual robots.
And it’s no lightweight setup either. This thing will come packed with:
- Up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI compute
- A 14-core Arm Neoverse-V3AE 64-bit CPU
- A 2560-core Nvidia Blackwell GPU
Translation: it’s going to be a powerhouse.
Now, here’s something interesting: Nvidia doesn’t make its own CPU architecture. That means it has to rely on partners like ARM. Even their powerful Grace Superchips are using 72 Arm v9 CPU cores.
So while Nvidia clearly dominates in AI hardware, it still needs help on the CPU side and that’s where ARM quietly plays a crucial role.
