NVIDIA Adds Gears of War: E-Day to GeForce NOW and Integrates Amazon Fire TV Billing
NVIDIA has added Gears of War: E-Day to its GeForce NOW cloud gaming library just days after its global launch, while simultaneously announcing a new billing integration for Amazon Fire TV users. The October 8 update brings 10 new titles to the cloud platform, expanding access to high-fidelity gaming and removing checkout friction for living room setups.
How GeForce NOW Streams Gears of War: E-Day
Set 14 years before the original game, the prequel follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they confront the initial Locust Horde invasion on Emergence Day. According to the official Steam store, players can "Battle alone or rally up to four players online across Campaign, Horde Siege, and…" other competitive modes.
GeForce NOW Ultimate members stream the title using RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud, utilizing NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex to maintain high frame rates and low latency across low-power laptops, Macs, and mobile devices. While the local console version relies on Xbox Velocity Architecture virtual RAM to manage performance on the Series S, the cloud version offloads the rendering entirely to NVIDIA’s data centers, bypassing local hardware limitations.
Why NVIDIA is Adding Amazon Fire TV Checkout
NVIDIA confirmed that Fire TV users will soon be able to “purchase GeForce NOW memberships directly through Amazon”. As reported by Mixed-news, this represents a billing infrastructure change rather than a new platform launch, since the GeForce NOW application has already been available on Fire TV hardware. The exact rollout date, supported regions, and applicable membership tiers remain unconfirmed.
This integration addresses a critical friction point in the living room cloud gaming market. Previously, users could download the app but had to navigate away from their television interface to complete a subscription purchase on a secondary device. By embedding the checkout process directly into the Amazon ecosystem, NVIDIA is aligning its cloud service with the traditional console onboarding experience, a necessary step to convert casual smart TV users into recurring cloud subscribers.
What Other Titles Are Joining the GeForce NOW Library
Beyond the flagship shooter, the cloud service added nine other titles this week. The new releases include STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, Forever Ago, Order of the Sinking Star, Silver Pines, and Permafrost. The library also expanded to include Graveyard Keeper 2, Solasta II, and Tyr. NVIDIA noted that the Xbox version of Dune: Awakening did not join the service in September as previously scheduled.
To lower the barrier to entry, NVIDIA offers a day pass that allows users to test premium cloud gaming. The cost of this pass can be applied toward a first monthly membership, providing a practical trial mechanism for users evaluating the service’s performance on their specific network setups before committing to a full subscription.
With these additions, GeForce NOW continues to expand its catalog and distribution footprint. The platform currently supports a wide array of devices, including the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Horizon OS, serving a base of 25 million members globally as it pushes deeper into direct retail billing partnerships.
